10. He stood against racial discrimination

Gandhiji had a firsthand experience of racial discrimination when he was in South Africa. It was from here that he developed his principle of Satyagraha. He wrote many articles to protest against racial discrimination. These articles were the source of inspiration for many great leaders like Nelson Mandela.
