Coined the term Harijan

Mahatma Gandhi coined the term ‘Harijan’ meaning son of god to refer to dalits. Gandhi also published three newspapers – Harijan in English, Harijan in Gujarati and Harijan Sevak in Hindi. These newspapers were used mainly to bring awareness among the people regarding the social economic condition of the country.
